Re: Intel® IoT Developer Kit v1.5

Thanks Alex,

But as far as I can tell, the images up there are from June and the release notes are from May. Looking at the Github kernel sources, these new changes were committed July 15th.  Now I know that they may delay there updates to the new github drop, which looks a lot easier to read then the old BSP guide, where things are much harder to find.  Maybe I should just update my machines and see what I get.

Thanks again

Re: breakout board pin assignments?

I found this thread searching the posts... I'm moving from Arduino I/O to using the Edison MRAA/GPIO.

According to the hardware data sheet for the Edison Breakout board - GPIO pin 13 should (which is also PWM-able) is located at J18 Pin 1.

After having the same problem as the fellow who posted this question a year ago - I found that according to the board silk screen, the pin that is actually "blinking" when you try to switch GPIO pin 13 on and off in 1 sec intervals - using the BLINK.cpp program from GitHub (e.g Brendan LeFoll's code)  - is actually J17 Pin 14.

Is there a software driver error - or is it a board silk screening error?

Cheers

Joe

Forget it. HD4000 graphics are crap anyway. I put in a discrete card.

Yeah, IMHO this release went a bit too low-profile and it deserved maybe a bit more clarification.

I'm building the ww25 image right now for the purpose of rebasing my repo - I can check specific things for you if you want, just tell me what you're interested in.

Re: Adapter AC7260 "No connections are available"

Problem solved.

As I mentioned in my first message WLAN light on laptop dashboard was on, but wifi icon on taskbar was saying "No connections are available". Except this everything else was indicating there are no problems with wifi.

Finally, I had to press Fn+F2 key combination twice - turn off and then turn on wifi to make wifi adapter receive available networks! And now with my old inspiron 1501 I'm able to communicate with both wifi bands - 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz - and use bluetooth connection with no problem. Although 5Ghz band APs shown in the network list somehow with delay, but it is ok.

What I want to say is after initial adapter and its driver installation hardware indicator is set to state "Wfi On" meanwhile adapter driver flag is set to "Wifi Off". So to set adapter's flag to ON state I had to set hardware to OFF state, and then to ON, and then this two states got synchronized now.

I believe it is adapter's driver bug that sets initial adapter state to Wifi Off.

I guess my experience may be helpful for others.

Thank you.

Issue Accessing MCTP data of DC P3700

Hi Team,

I have a slaved i2c driver (7-bit Addressing) to access temperature data @ 0x1B and driver status @ 0x6A.

I am able to get the temperature data as two bytes say 0xC3, 0x03, I face issue when trying to read Drive status @ 0x6A,  (in the product specification this address is mentioned as 0x6 instead of 0x6A) I gets smubs error 121. I am using the api mentioned below

#define MCTP_CMD_DRIVE_STATUS    0x0

#define MCTP_DRIVE_STATUS_BLOCK_SIZE    0x08

char buff[8];

ret = i2c_smbus_read_i2c_block_data(client, MCTP_CMD_DRIVE_STATIC_DATA,

            MCTP_DRIVE_STATUS_BLOCK_SIZE, buff);

When I i2cdetect tool i see "UU" status for slave 0x6A.

Please help identifying the issue in reading.

Intel dz68bc not displaying

$

Hi,

I recently updated the bios on my dz68bc board from 0028 (i think) to 0042 (the most recent suggested bios). After a couple hours I managed to make it work but it would only work with 1 ram stick plugged. After searching the forums, I found out that downgrading to 0035 would allow me to use both my ram sticks, so I did. Everything worked for a couple hours but the day after, the computer started beeping twice, waiting 2.5 secs, then beeping twice again. It would also not display anything on the monitor. I've tried unplugging, removing the battery, waiting, removing the bios jumper and restarting it with a usb stick containing the recovery bios, but it did not work. Now I don't know what to do any more, At this point, my computer does 2 things, if I have no usb sticks in it, the post keeps looping back to 13 (still no display on the monitor). If the usb stick is in, it goes to 13, then Eb, then Ea, then 77 and stays there. I can't find anything about the port 80h code 77, so I'm very lost. I don't know if the bios can be flashed without display. I've tried waiting with the recovery usb but even after 10 mins, it still shows 77. What am I supposed to do now?

Yeah, and also this issue happened months ago when Intel released a new Graphic driver for these Intel HD's cards. It's not the first time, and I'm kind of perplexed Intel has this kind of errors.

How can they release a new driver and don't check if the link works?

Intel NUC D54250: "No signal" after switching monitor back on

$

I bought an Intel NUC D54250WYKH3 seven months ago and I have been having problems if I switch the monitor off when I am not working and switching it back on some time later.

The monitor will show 'No signal' and I have to wait a random length of time, possibly hours, for the monitor to display the screen contents.

I have upgraded the BIOS several times and I am currently at WY0040.BIO, but the problem still remains.

I am running Debian 7.7 and the situation can be significantly improved if I activate the screen saver before I switch the monitor off, so much so that I now stand a better than 50% chance of the monitor working when I switch it back on.

I am using the mini Display Port (DP) port on the NUC connected to the DP port on the monitor. I believe that it is the NUC at fault as connecting a Raspberry Pi/Raspbian to the HDMI port or a dual boot Windows 7/Linux to the DVI port all display the screen contents properly when I switch the monitor back on.

I would really like to make the connection 100% reliable because as it stands I cannot make the NUC my main PC.

I would be grateful if anybody has solved this problem. If not, is there any information that I can provide to help narrow down where the problem lies?

Hello noris1,

That is weird. Were you making any major system modifications? Or did you notice any strange behavior from your board the last time it was recognized?

If you connect the serial cable, are you able to find the USB Serial Port on your device manager? If so, can you try accessing your board's Linux? Do you see any strange behavior or are you able to access the Galileo Linux's normally?

"Unrecognized filesystem" and "panic notified" - Edison not starting

Hey,

my Intel Edison still does not show up in Windows Explorer (see Intel Edison not found), but now I have been able to form a serial connection to the device. I now discovered that the Edison keeps rebooting and shows some errors all the time.

[    2.144364] Call Trace:

[    2.144794] emmc_ipanic: Crash partition in use!

It always ends with the message

*** Ready to receive application ***

, but I am not able to type in anything. After a short time, the Edison reboots.

So I wanted to update the firmware via serial connection, because I suspected an error in the firmware, but when I pressed a key to stop autoboot and typed in the command "run do_ota", it showed

** Unrecognized filesystem type **

Saving Environment to MMC...

Writing to MMC(0)... done

resetting ...

but did not update/reset/reflash anything. Same with the command "run do_flash" (except there wasn't the message about the unrecognized filesystem type).

I hope, anyone of you can tell me what to do to finally use my Edison...

David

                Thanks for the reply on this.  This is the path that I though was most correct, but here is where my issue comes in…

                I want to maintain my same RAID level obviously, but the drop down only allows me to select RAID 0 and there is no option for RAID 5.

                Do you know what would prevent RAID 5 from showing up in that drop down list, especially since that's my current level?

/b

Is your RAID 5 partitioned or separated in multiple Virtual Drives?
