Hi TomTech

Sorry to hear that but just as a heads up iv always used the BIO file to update.

This is how i did the update:

I'm Running Windows 8.1 and i had set up secure boot.

1. Always reset the BIOS to default values before updating

2. Coz of secure boot after i set default i went in BIOS and uninstalled/cleared the platform keys then saved then went back in again then pressed F9 for default just to confirm then saved and switched off the PC for like 3 Minutes to make sure all power is gone.

3. With the BIOS 0451 In a USB stick i plugged it in the rear USB Port on the motherboard not from the chassis ports.

4. Switched on the PC and pressed F7 and proceeded to update from there, it completed successfully restarted then i went in BIOS ad F9 again for default settings then I shut down for the PC for like 5 minutes.

5. Switched on PC went in BIOS and set up XMP and Secure boot and saved using F10 there was no lockup or friz like previous 04xx BIOS and My PC has been working with no issue so far unless of course the latency with memory that come with the 04xx BIOS latency issue was not present in 03xx that i have reported for some time now.

If the above steps fail, you could always use the recovery method to install the BIOS using the BIO file

Oh and TomTech

Please provide your system specs might help to narrow down the problem you are experiencing

I suspect it could be if you are using a GPU it might not be UEFI compliant, so if you are using a GPU remove it and try the BIOS update without the GPU.

Even though in my case i installed the BIOS while my GPU was attached to the board but then again my EVGA GTX 770 3771 has a UEFI Compliant BIOS
