8265G/82801EB have ACPI-related memory-mapping conflicts. How to fix?

I have an 82865G Graphics Display/HUB chip and a 82801EB chip on a Dell Dimension 3000 MB. Both work fine with the Dell OEM Windows XP install. I'm trying to get a legacy Win98SE running in place of XT because it has valuable tech programs installed. I downloaded the needed drivers from Intel for the chips but memory mapping seems to be totally FUBAR. The 82865G Graphics Extreme Display driver is sitting on IRQ0 (this doesn't seem right because on the XP it is set to IRQ16). Memory overlaps and conflicts with the SB Extension for ACPI Bios. Most conspicuously, 000C0000 - 000CFFFF. Win98SE won't let me change either memory assignments. It seems to be ACPI related but I don't have a clue how to fix it. Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
