I finally got a few hours to play with my Galileo again, and I was able to connect the dots to enable a serial port via the USB connection. Just upgrade your image, and it will put a login on the ttyGS0 device that will show up as a USB serial (ACM) device on your host computer. If you've installed the arduio IDE, then you've probably already got the device driver (usbser.sys) installed and configured. If not, and you end up with a gadget device on windows, then choose a driver from the list of available drivers, and pick the COM port/Galileo device. If you've using Linux, it'll just work as it shows up as /dev/ttyACM0.
Next up, for me is to sort out the updates needed for the kernel to match the Gen 2 board. The image currently boots, but it's not finding the network.
