Regarding the libusb, you could try with AlexT repo, I haven’t tried that package, but hopefully it will work for you. Take a look at this post http://alextgalileo.altervista.org/package-repo-configuration-instructions.html follow the steps indicated in there and in the repo called i586 he has a version of the libusb. Give it a try and let us know if it works.
