Windows 8 as WIDI receiver

Is it possible to share my screen of my laptop of tablet to a windows 8(.1) PC with WIDI or miracast?

I have an intel NUC (DC3217IYE) with an Intel centrino 6235 Wifi card. I'm going to use the NUC as a HTPC.

I want to share my Sony Vaio notebook screen (windows 8) and surface tablet screen (windows 8.1) to my HTPC. The laptop and tablet supports intel WiDi.

First i tried windows 8.1 on the NUC because it has buildin miracast support. My laptop and tablet didn't find any device for the wireless display (charm bar -> devices -> project -> add a wireless display). I searched the internet for a solution but didn't find anything, only stuuf about hardware receivers.

So i installed windows 8.0 on the NUC with all the latest driver from intel and widi software. But i didn't see the NUC as wireless display.

Is it possible to use windows 8 as a WIDI receiver or isn't it possible and I must buy a hardware receiver?
