It's a cheap "generic" USB HDD enclosure, the brand is Xpert. Ubuntu log says it's a Jmicron device. It supports both PATA and SATA devices and uses USB 2.0. . I couldn't find the BIOS version you mentioned in the downloads page for the DB85FL in the download center and the download link you posted above just bring me to this thread again.

but here, at the bottom of the page says that this download is valid for Intel® Desktop Board DQ87PG, but, in the Release Notes file, it says "PRODUCTS: DB85FL (Standard BIOS) ". It seems somewhat confusing for me.
Anyway, I'll install this update and test it. I'll post here the results.
