Issue with MSI Z87I Mobo and WIDI

I just purchased the following hardware for my new PC:

-MSI Z87I Mobo (it supports WIDI with a built-in intel wireless display card )

-I3 4130

I am currently running windows 8.1. When i try to install the WiDI software or use the wifi update tool it says my graphics adapter isn't support (doesn't make sense since it is supported). If I try to use the charm/widget thing in windows 8.1, it will identify my netgear pvt3000 push2tv hooked up to my TV. I can even insert the code to allow connection. However, the screen flashes black the intel widi logo appears on the bottom right corner and then the screen flashes black once more and widi crashes. Furthermore, the push2tv says "the wifi connection is closed" after this happens. I have updated the mobo chipset driver, the grpahcis driver, the intel wifi driver and I have updated the mobo's bios. I have also upgraded to the latest firmware on the netgear push2tv. I know the netgear push2tv is working fine since my laptop, which also has widi, works fine with it.

I am at a loss to what is wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
